So, a bit of good news!

I got a phone call this morning from my insurance company about the open claim I have had on my car accident back in April.

I had submitted the last of my paperwork they requested for all my medical needs.  As of last week, I finished up my chiropractic therapy, which has helped tremendously!  But the insurance company had requested that my files related to these injuries be forwarded to the claims office.  They didn’t think that the doctors would release them to me, but I was able to collect them and faxed them over yesterday.

I wasn’t expecting a phone call so soon!  They will be reviewing my paperwork and hopefully get back to me with a settlement offer within a week!  They also are pushing to get me car in to be seen, which may also come with a $2000 settlement as well.  I won’t hold my breath on it.  It is conditional, and it is to be taken with my giving up my chance to use my deductible without dinging my rate.  If I take the settlement on the vehicle side, then I have to pay out of pocket.  The good thing is that I can take it in to get looked at and estimated free of charge.  So, I will wait on that.

There you go!  My good news of the day!

And so it is Tuesday….

Now that three of my four classes are over and done with, I thought I’d have more time to do things.  And while I do, it seems like more of the smaller things are piling up onto my TDL (to do list)!

It has been hot, but the thunderstorms do help, when they actually build then dump.  Yesterday it was so humid, I thought for sure something would develop.  However, it didn’t and I was left disappointed.  I love a good rain shower, the thunderstorms are a bonus!

The heat is putting a serious damper among the Kulseth household.  Leilani has the type of hair where I cannot even get her near water without a cap.  So, now we have to look around for a child-sized swim cap for her to go swimming and take more advantage of the nearby water park.

It is simply too hot to just have them play on the playgrounds in the evenings.  I’d rather be in the pool with them versus running around in the humid heat and getting stuck to a park bench.  I know Leilani gets heartbroken anytime we go to a park that has the water park. She does not get a chance to play in the water because of her hair.  It sucks to be stuck with the options of slides or swings!

Speaking of water parks, a new one just opened up not to far from us.  We took the kids there Saturday night, teaming up with my best friend Beth and her girls.  Leilani was completely thrilled at the idea she actually got to play in the water versus just watching others play in the water.  I should also point out that it is hard to keep Michael out as well, to be fair to Leilani.  Anyway, I had to wash and press her hair again anyway, so I figured she might as well get her hair wet by playing in water versus just washing in the shower.

It is an awesome water park.  We went when the sun was setting, and there were so many kids there, I didn’t get a whole lot of pictures.  When I take pictures of my kids, I get shots without other kids’ faces in them.  I am a mom and I understand what it is like to be protective of your children’s identities.  Not many parents think of this until you tell them, but I am not comfortable with my kids’ faces plastered onto other people’s photos without my permission.  You just never know!

I did get a few pictures, but I have to omit a few out since Beth’s kids are in some of them. This one to the right is one of my favorites.  Yes, it is gross, but what kid doesn’t do this?

This water park is awesome!  The water rotates between four different sets of water features in about a 10-12 minute rotation.  I didn’t really time it well, but I know it is definitely longer than the one we usually frequent, which is in a 65 second cycle.  The features rotate, and the kids just start bouncing back and forth between them, chasing the water.  Water comes down, water splashes up.  The kids had a blast!

Well, I need to get off of here and get lunch ready and a couple of house chores done.  I also promised my friend Greg that I’d help him research some stuff.  So, TTYL!
